Capture8Accelerators for Microsoft Dynamics CRM

CRM Accelerators are a range of add-on solutions developed for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 customers and partners. Each accelerator is available at no cost and will showcase how the Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 platform can be configured and extended to broaden marketing, sales and service capabilities. Microsoft Dynamics CRM customers and partners are encouraged to further extend these accelerators to meet their specific business needs. Each accelerator is built following SDK guidelines. Each accelerator will be entitled to limited support from Microsoft, the extent of that support will be restricted to troubleshooting CRM API calls made from the accelerator code that adhere to SDK guidelines. Additionally, all accelerators are supplied with full source-code so they can be modified to meet specific customer requirements.

Tips & Tricks

Capture11Reduce Exchange Traffic with CRM

To reduce the Exchange traffic on your system, modify your Outlook rule to forward only those messages where CRM is in the subject or body. This will eliminate the forwards to the sink mailbox that are just going to get deleted anyway. Here are the steps to modify your rule:

1.

In Outlook, go to Tools > Rules and Alerts

2.

Select the current CRM forwarding rule and click the Change button and choose Edit Rule Settings

3.

In Step 1: Select conditions, check the option for "with specific words in the subject or body"

4.

In the Step 2 box, edit the specific words to be "CRM:"*

5.

Click Finish to save the rule.

IT Chargeback System

An IT Chargeback System is a method of accounting for technology-related expenses that applies the costs of services, hardware or software to the business unit in which they are used. This system contrasts with traditional IT accounting models in which a centralized department bears all of the IT costs in an organization and those costs are treated simply as corporate overhead.

IT chargeback systems are sometimes called "responsibility accounting" because this sort of accounting demonstrates which departments or individuals are responsible for significant expenses. Such systems are intended to shift responsibility to users and encourage them to treat IT services as they would any other utility, which in turn encourages moderate use.
